2011 Year of change
\\//!
It's been a while since I last blogged. There were 2 reasons for that, my django-mingus was broken (updated to a newer Django release) and I simply hadn't that much to say. I was continuing a project that was pretty closed and I couldn't reveal any information about it. The project finished and I started a new challenge.
As of 6 January 2011 I'm Yoda at Brekiri. Brekiri is a newly founded company led by Greg Genschev and me. Our mission is to build a business search engine that will allow you to search businesses but without getting all the spam results. So we will make sure your search results get filtered the correct way without losing value.
Search for businesses is pretty much a pain now, and Greg has been suffering that pain for a few years now. He wanted to do it the right way and looked for a techie to help him out. It's not the first start-up I'm in, but it's the first that I'm there from the beginning.
As we develop further in the future I will try to keep you guys up to speed with what technologies we use, how we use them and why we think it might be the best way to do it. Greg and I are convinced that using Open Source technologies will provide us the best flexibility and a faster turnaround.
I'm pretty excited and I noticed that this challenge is basically what I needed.
My next post will be about the project management tool we use and what its advantages and disadvantages are right now.
